Kuwait Ambassador Praises Efforts of Kuwait-America Foundation in Promoting Peace

Kuwait city: Kuwait Ambassador to the US Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah praised the important role played by the Kuwait-America Foundation (KAF) in raising awareness among youth about the dangers of violence and promoting peace and understanding between individuals in communities. This commendation was made during a ceremony held by the Kuwaiti embassy in Washington, which honored 28 middle school students from across the US who were selected as Ambassadors of Peace for the 2025 "Do the Right Thing" program, established and sponsored by KAF since 1991.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Sheikha Al-Zain emphasized that the KAF provides students with a platform to express themselves through writing on how violence affects their lives, its causes, and potential solutions "not through revenge, but through voice." She highlighted that the program "represents a tribute to the strong friendship between our countries, which has been strengthened over decades of mutual respect, shared values, and lasting goodwill." In a statement to KUNA, Sheikha Al-Zain mentioned that the program allows students to share their writing and stories with US Congress decision-makers, with these writings being deposited in the Library of Congress.

The KAF is a non-profit organization established in 1991, inspired by the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion. It recognizes American sacrifices and the strong relations between both countries. The organization's activities focus on education and cultural exchange programs for young people and those needing care and attention, aiming to reduce violence in schools and communities across the US.
