WMF Delegation Visits Kuwait’s Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah

Kuwait City: Ambassadors of the World Monuments Fund (WMF) visited the Americani Cultural Centre, an affiliate of Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah (DAI), on Wednesday as part of a 60-night trip around the globe to mark WMF's 60th anniversary.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the WMF delegation was welcomed by DAI Supervisor General Sheikha Hussa Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Acting Assistant Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) Sheikha Al-Anoud Ibrahim Al-Sabah. The visit underscores the importance of Kuwait's cultural heritage, which is reflected in its unrivalled collection of relics.

Sheikha Al-Anoud emphasized the significance of the delegation's visit, noting that it provides an opportunity to share expertise on preserving cultural heritage with globally recognized specialists. The delegation, led by Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, founder and chairperson of the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammad Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research of Bahrain, also includes Benedicte de Montlaur, President and CEO of the World Monuments Fund.

The World Monuments Fund, established in 1965, is dedicated to preserving the world's cultural heritage, adhering to the highest international standards. To date, the organization has worked at more than 700 sites across 112 countries.
