US President Announces Major Tech and Energy Investments in Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh: Twenty leading technology and energy companies announced more than USD 92 billion of investments in Pennsylvania," Trump said on Tuesday during the inauguration of Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit. "This is a really triumphant day for the people of the Commonwealth and for the United States of America," Trump said.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump highlighted a significant investment by Knighthead Capital Management that will revitalize the Homer City Power Plant. With a USD 15 billion investment, the site, previously Pennsylvania's largest coal-fired power plant, is being transformed into a natural gas-powered facility. This redevelopment will include a large-scale data center campus, marking the site as the largest natural gas-fired power plant in North America.

Trump emphasized the importance of these commitments, stating, "Today's commitments are ensuring the future is going to be designed, built and made right here in Pennsylvania and right here in Pittsburgh and, I have to say, right here in the United States of America." The investment aims to meet the increasing demand for AI and high-performance computing, positioning the state and the country at the forefront of technological development.
