UK Reiterates Backing Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, Allow Aid Access

London: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reiterated his backing for the US-led peace plan for Gaza.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the remarks came during a phone call with US President Donald Trump Tuesday night, during which the two leaders discussed developments in Gaza, Iran, and Ukraine.

"Turning to the situation in Gaza, the Prime Minister reflected on the current situation in the region and the importance of securing further access for humanitarian aid," the statement added. "The two leaders confirmed their joint commitment to promoting stability and peace in the Middle East." They also reviewed the US-Iran talks held in Geneva regarding Tehran's nuclear program.

They agreed that Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons capabilities and stressed the need for close coordination among allies and partners to strengthen regional security. On Ukraine, Starmer and Trump discussed recent development and the latest Russian attacks, as well as ongoing efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
