Two people were killed and six others were injured, in a shooting incident that occurred in the Canadian capital, Ottawa.
Media outlets quoted today, Canadian police as saying that the shooting took place inside a parking lot at a conference center south of the city, killing two people and injuring six others, which were described as not serious.
“We do not have any evidence to suggest that the shooting incident is a hate crime linked to race or religious beliefs, but we do not rule out this option,” said Martin Groulx, an inspector at the Canadian Police Force.
According to the Canadian government, a number of Canadian cities have seen a significant increase in gun violence in recent years, with shootings becoming “increasingly frequent,” and since 2009, the country has seen an 81 percent increase in violent gun-related crime.
