Two Palestinians Killed by Israeli Occupation in West Bank

Jenin: Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces in Jenin, located in the West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian Public Authority for Civil Information. The incident occurred amid a large-scale operation by Israeli forces that has continued for three consecutive days.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the authority confirmed in a press release that it had informed the Health Ministry about the deaths of Qutaiba Shalbi and Mohammad Nazal in Burqin village. The two were reportedly killed by occupation forces on Wednesday, and their bodies have been retained by the authorities.

Eyewitnesses told KUNA that on Wednesday evening, Israeli forces surrounded a house in Burqin and opened fire. Israeli Channel 12 reported that special units and the Shabak security agency claimed responsibility for assassinating the individuals believed to be involved in an operation near Al-Funduq village two weeks prior, which resulted in the deaths of three settlers and injuries to others.

The ongoing military operation, which commenced in Jenin on January 21, has led to the deaths of 12 young men and injuries to dozens. Eyewitness accounts to KUNA indicate that the occupation army forced several families to leave the camp and deployed soldiers throughout the neighborhoods and on building rooftops.

In addition to the military actions, the occupation forces have imposed a stringent siege on the West Bank, utilizing hundreds of barriers and iron gates at the entrances of Palestinian cities and towns. These measures have significantly restricted the movement of citizens, preventing students from reaching their schools and universities and employees from accessing their workplaces.

Last week, the Israeli occupation army announced plans to strengthen combat forces for both defense and attack. This decision was made in the context of agreements and preparations for prisoner releases and political decisions in the West Bank.
