Minister of Social Affairs Aims to Enhance Public Services

Kuwait City: Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila expressed a commitment to improving the ministry's performance and services to the public. She addressed challenges facing staff at community development centers and wedding halls, aiming for comprehensive, sustainable solutions. Al-Huwaila, also Family and Childhood Affairs Minister, informed supervisors of the current state focus on strengthening partnerships with the private sector and civil society to achieve developmental goals and boost financial revenues.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Huwaila highlighted the necessity of moving away from traditional management methods in centers and halls, advocating for innovative ideas to elevate service quality for citizens. She emphasized the importance of adapting to global digital transformations to enhance services and instructed the identification of administrative needs for centers and halls, with funding sourced either from the ministry or through relevant partnerships.

The ministry's acting undersecretary, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, noted that the Community Development Department is the ministry's second-largest department, with over 1,200 employees playing a vital role in community engagement by making community centers and wedding halls accessible to citizens at affordable rates. Al-Ajmi stated that the ministry oversees more than 27 community centers and 76 wedding halls, with 69 affiliated with donors and cooperative societies, and seven directly under the ministry's control. "We are in the process of incorporating all wedding halls into the 'Sahel' application as part of the ministry's digital transformation strategy," he added. He also mentioned that the ministry has tasked the Community Development Department with collaborating with cooperative societies to maintain these centers, reinforcing community partnership.

"Our main goal is serving the citizens and providing them with the best possible services," Al-Ajmi concluded.
