Istanbul: Turkish Airlines announced, Sunday, that it would resume flights to Iran on Monday, following a nearly two-week suspension. Director General of Turkish Airlines, Bilal Eksi, confirmed in a post on X that flights would restart to both Tehran and Mashhad on Monday. Turkish Airlines halted its flights to Iran following Israeli occupation's airstrikes on Iranian territory that lasted for 12 days.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the suspension of flights was a precautionary measure in response to the volatile situation in the region. The resumption of services marks a return to normalcy for passengers traveling between Turkey and Iran, providing essential connectivity that had been disrupted during the conflict.
Turkish Airlines operates regular flights to various destinations in Iran, and the halt had impacted several travelers and businesses relying on the air route. The decision to resume flights was made after assessing the current security situation and ensuring the safety of passengers and crew.
