Trump Warns Russia with 100 Percent Tariffs if No Ukraine Deal in 50 Days

Washington: Trump announced a stringent ultimatum to Russia on Monday, emphasizing a 50-day deadline for reaching an agreement with Ukraine or facing 100 percent "secondary tariffs." This policy seemingly targets countries such as China and India that purchase Russian oil, potentially causing significant disruptions in global oil markets.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a senior White House official indicated that Russia must also agree to a ceasefire within this timeframe to avoid severe sanctions and tariffs. Speaking at a joint appearance with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, Trump declared that the United States is prepared to send billions of dollars' worth of advanced military equipment to NATO allies, with those nations expected to cover the cost.

Rutte highlighted that this initiative would enable Ukraine to secure a substantial supply of weapons, including air defense systems and missiles. In certain instances, countries plan to immediately deploy supplies already in their stockpiles to Ukraine, then restock their arsenals by acquiring arms from the United States.
