Trump Sees Progress on Gaza, Raising Hopes for Ceasefire

The Hague: US President Donald Trump expressed optimism on Wednesday regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, saying that "great progress" has been made in the Hamas-Israeli occupation negotiations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump, speaking at a joint press conference in The Hague with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, mentioned, "great progress is being made on Gaza. I think we're going to have some very good news." He was informed by US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff that "Gaza is very close" to a ceasefire agreement.

President Trump further stated that efforts to reach a deal were already advancing prior to the strike, but suggested that the US strikes on Iran played a role in accelerating the process.
