Tehran and Cairo Emphasize Coordination Across Lebanon

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty emphasized the importance of maintaining confidence and coordination among Lebanon's political factions. This agreement was reached during a phone call late Thursday, where both ministers also discussed the need to prevent any actions that could increase internal tensions in Lebanon.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministers urged Israeli forces to withdraw from all occupied territories in southern Lebanon and to cease their attacks on the country. The conversation also addressed the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, with both sides calling on Muslim nations to take effective measures to end the ongoing violence and to provide immediate humanitarian aid to the region.

In related developments, the Lebanese cabinet approved a plan proposed by US Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack, aiming to establish a state monopoly on arms. The cabinet committed to taking necessary steps to restore state sovereignty over Lebanese territories, as stated in a press release from the Presidency.
