China Welcomes Russian-US Talks on Ukraine

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed satisfaction over the ongoing communications between Russia and the United States aimed at promoting a political resolution to the Ukraine crisis.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Xi emphasized China's consistent stance on the Ukraine issue, reaffirming that China will continue to advocate for peace talks irrespective of how the situation unfolds. This was conveyed during a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin shared Russia's perspective on the current state of the Ukraine crisis and the recent dialogues between Russia and the United States with Xi. He expressed appreciation for the constructive role China has played in seeking a political settlement and reiterated that the strong strategic partnership between Russia and China remains unaffected by any circumstances.

Putin also confirmed Russia's willingness to maintain close communication with China, as highlighted in the Xinhua report. The leaders acknowledged the robust political trust and strategic coordination between their countries and committed to further enhancing China-Russia relations.

Both leaders agreed to collaborate in preparation for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China, aiming to make it a summit characterized by friendship and unity, and to advance the development of the SCO.
