Cairo: Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit on Friday emphatically denounced an Israeli occupation plan to take control of Gaza and displace its population.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Abul-Gheit issued a press release calling for a decisive international stance against the Israeli occupation plans, highlighting the potential consequences of the ongoing conflict for the Palestinian people. He described the plan as a reflection of the Israeli occupation's long-standing intentions and goals since the onset of hostilities, specifically the re-occupation of Gaza and the displacement of its residents.
The leader of the Cairo-based Arab bloc stressed that global opposition exists against the Israeli occupation's intentions, which aim at eradicating a significant number of Palestinians in Gaza. He emphasized that this opposition is not limited to Arab nations but is shared by the international community at large.
Earlier, the Israeli occupation government sanctioned a plan by its head, Benjamin Netanyahu, to seize control of Gaza City and intensify military operations in the area.
