Security Forces Neutralize Seven Militants in Northern Pakistan

Kuwait city: At least seven militants were killed in two separate security operations in Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province bordering Afghanistan, said military on Tuesday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a press release issued by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that seven militants were killed in two separate engagements in the North Waziristan tribal district of KPK.

An intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in the general area of Mir Ali in North Waziristan on the reported presence of militants. During the operation, Pakistani troops engaged the militants' location effectively, resulting in the death of six militants following an intense exchange of fire.

Another intelligence-based operation took place in the general area of Spinwam, where one more militant was neutralized by the security forces during the ensuing fire exchange, confirmed ISPR.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were reportedly involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and in the target killing of civilians.

The military stated that security operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. The counter-terrorism campaign by Pakistan's security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full pace to eradicate terrorism supported by foreign entities from the country.

Earlier last week, security forces killed at least 22 militants in an intelligence-based operation in the Dera Ismail Khan district of KPK. These operations occur as Pakistan experiences an increase in terror attacks, particularly in the KPK and Balochistan provinces, which border Afghanistan.
