Kuwait Holds 1-1 Draw With Egypt at Arab Football Cup

Kuwait city: Kuwait's national football team drew 1-1 on Tuesday with Egypt in the opening match of Group C at the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, hosted by Qatar. The Egyptian side dominated most of the match held at Lusail Stadium, exerting continuous pressure on the Kuwaiti goal. In the 38th minute, Egypt's Amr Al-Soulia missed a penalty kick, wasting a golden opportunity to take the lead.

According to Kuwait News Agency, in the second half, Kuwait's coach introduced several substitutions that revitalized the team's lines and increased their offensive presence. As a result, Kuwait's Fahad Al-Hajri scored a header to put his team ahead, after which the Kuwaiti squad tightened its defense to preserve the lead. Mohammad Dahham was about to add a second goal for Kuwait, but his attempt went off target.

In the 88th minute, Egypt's Mohammad Afsha netted the equalizer from the penalty spot. Both teams earned one point from the draw, while the UAE is set to face Jordan on Wednesday in the same group.
