Schneider Electric to Invest Over USD 700 Million in US Energy and AI Sectors

Washington: Schneider Electric, a multinational leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced plans on Wednesday to invest more than USD 700 million to boost American energy infrastructure and AI through 2027. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt highlighted that President Donald Trump is committed to revitalizing America's manufacturing prowess. According to Kuwait News Agency, the company's investments align with the national agenda to enhance energy infrastructure, support AI growth, spur domestic manufacturing, and fortify energy security. This investment is set against a backdrop of increasing demand in data centers, utilities, manufacturing, and energy infrastructure. The planned capital expenditure marks Schneider Electric's largest single investment in its 135-plus-year history in the US. It encompasses manufacturing expansions and job creation, driven by significant customer demand for solutions aimed at improving energy efficiency, scaling industrial autom ation, and ensuring a more reliable grid. With this commitment, Schneider Electric's total US investment this decade will surpass USD one billion, as noted by Leavitt. The investment is expected to generate over 1,000 new jobs, with a focus on hiring veterans and retiring US service members. Newly created roles will include manufacturing professionals, engineers, developers, and technical analysts, highlighting the company's dedication to fostering a culture of service. Aamir Paul, President of North America Operations for Schneider Electric, emphasized the importance of agility in leading the transformation in technology and industrial sectors, driven by AI growth and energy demand. He noted the announcement as a milestone in Schneider Electric's responsible investment strategy, underscoring their commitment to US manufacturing and technological innovation. Jay Timmons, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, remarked that Schneider Electric's investment signifies progress in Ameri can manufacturing, driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation. Debra Phillips, President and CEO of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, echoed these sentiments, congratulating Schneider Electric on their commitment to US innovation and the creation of well-paying jobs. In related news, Hyundai announced a USD 20 billion investment in the United States, including a substantial allocation for a new steel plant in Louisiana, expected to create nearly 1,500 jobs.
