Saudi Arabia Commits to Supporting Syria’s Reconstruction Efforts

Damascus: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue to lead efforts in supporting Syria's reconstruction and economic initiatives. The minister emphasized the importance of removing Western sanctions to facilitate economic recovery and improve the living conditions of the Syrian people. This statement was made during a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani in Damascus.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Prince Bin Farhan expressed gratitude towards US President Donald Trump for his favorable response to the Kingdom's advocacy for lifting the longstanding sanctions. Additionally, he announced a collaborative financial support initiative between Saudi Arabia and Qatar aimed at enhancing the living standards of Syrian public sector employees. This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to promoting stability, reviving the economy, and relieving humanitarian distress in Syria.

Prince Bin Farhan highlighted the beginning of a new era of economic and investment cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Syria. This partnership is grounded in mutual respect and a shared vision for regional stability. Earlier, the Saudi minister led a high-level economic delegation to Damascus, marking an official visit that included discussions with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa at Tishreen Palace. The visit also involved a luncheon hosted by President Al-Sharaa in honor of the Saudi delegation.

The delegation accompanying Prince Bin Farhan included several key figures: Advisor to the Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al Farhan, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic and Development Affairs Abdullah bin Zarah, Royal Court Advisor Mohammad bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Deputy Minister of Finance Abdulmuhsen bin Saad Alkhalaf, and Assistant Minister of Investment Dr. Abdullah Aldubaikhi.
