Egypt Condemns Israeli Settlement Plans and Starvation Policy

Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Bader Abdelati has condemned the Israeli occupation's decision to construct new settlements and its policy of starvation against civilians in Gaza.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the foreign affairs ministry stated that Minister Abdelati's comments were made during a phone conversation with his Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp. The discussion included strategies to enhance bilateral relations and address the dire conditions in Gaza.

Minister Abdelati emphasized the importance of the international community adhering to international law and avoiding double standards concerning the situation in Gaza. Veldkamp, in response, expressed his nation's opposition to the settlement policy and stressed the need for aid delivery to Gazans.

The Israeli occupation government recently announced plans to build 22 new settlements in the West Bank, prompting widespread condemnation. International organizations have reported that only minimal food and essential supplies are reaching the besieged region.

Additionally, the conversation between the two ministers included discussions on navigation in the Red Sea. Veldkamp indicated that the Dutch government is prepared to support Dutch companies in resuming navigation through the Red Sea and Suez Canal, which have been impacted by instability in the region.
