Palestinian Presidency Warns of Gaza Displacement and Occupation’s Expansion in West Bank

Ramallah: The Palestinian presidency warned on Sunday of the grave consequences of Israeli occupation's threats to carry out mass displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip ahead of a new large-scale military offensive.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, called on the US to press the Israeli occupation to halt these threats and work toward achieving a ceasefire. He also warned against any plans by the Israeli occupation to annex parts of the West Bank, stating, "Any approach that includes the annexation of Palestinian land will lead to more wars and ongoing instability in the region." According to Abu Rudeineh, these actions reveal the Israeli occupation's clear intentions to sabotage all international efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and ending the war. He reaffirmed that any initiatives failing to uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people - including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders - are doomed to fail.

Israeli occupation has recently forced thousands of Palestinians to flee areas in the Gaza Strip, particularly in Gaza City and Jabalia in the north.
