Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed on Tuesday the announcement by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prevost, of his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations session. According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry stated that Belgium's stance aligns with international law and UN resolutions, supporting the two-state solution to achieve peace. The ministry urged countries yet to recognize Palestine to act swiftly, intensify efforts to halt genocide, displacement, starvation, and annexation, and open a genuine political path to resolve the conflict and end the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine. French President Emmanuel Macron had announced in July that France would recognize Palestine during this month's UN meeting, prompting several other countries to indicate their intention to follow suit.
