Kuwait city: The Kuwait Cabinet has announced that the "Sahel" app, the country's leading government platform, has facilitated over 110 million transactions, making it the most utilized digital service by citizens and residents. This milestone was reached through the collaborative efforts of more than 40 government bodies, as revealed during the weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Abdullah Al-Mousherji shared a statement highlighting the app's achievements. The Cabinet received a visual presentation from Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar and the executive committee of "Sahel" outlining future plans to enhance the platform with more integrated digital services.
The Cabinet also addressed the enforcement of laws by the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) board, urging continued action against violators of plot regulations to support compliant factories and stimulate private sector involvement. Minister of Commerce and Industry and PAI Chairman Khalifa Al-Ojail informed the Cabinet about the recent withdrawal of licenses from 50 industrial and service plots in the Shuwaikh Industrial area due to significant violations of land use.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed communications from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent by leaders of allied nations, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations. The Cabinet also approved several bills, including one on a unified system of international land transportation among GCC countries, and another concerning financial and economic agreements with partner countries. These were forwarded to His Highness the Amir for further consideration.
Furthermore, the Cabinet discussed reports from the ministerial committees on legal, economic, and public services affairs. This included approving initiatives for agricultural development on highways through donations from oil companies and private sector firms. The Cabinet also endorsed actions related to Kuwaiti citizenship status, aligning with decree No. 15 of 1959.
