Muscat: The three-day Oman Petroleum and Energy Show commenced on Monday, integrating with the Sultanate's 2025 Sustainable Week event. Oman Minister of Energy Salem Al-Aufi emphasized that incorporating the energy and petroleum show within the sustainability week underscores the country's commitment to the responsible use of energy.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the sustainability week will host sessions that focus on utilizing leading technology to enhance environmental protection and stimulate economic growth. The sessions will also feature discussions on digitizing oil and gas operations, with contributions from prominent figures in the sectors.
The minister announced the establishment of a new Oman center dedicated to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. He noted that as part of Oman's sustainability initiatives, there are currently 180 electric vehicle charging stations, which represent an initial step towards broader environmental protection goals.
The Petroleum and Energy Show is anticipated to attract approximately 30,000 visitors from 50 countries and includes participation from 350 companies and exhibitors from both the region and around the world.
