Nat’l Democratic Alliance Poised for Victory in Bihar Assembly Elections

Patna: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to win the Assembly Elections in the eastern Indian state of Bihar, leading in around 200 out of 243 seats.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Election Commission of India data shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party, the main constituent in the NDA, led in 94 seats. Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United), under the current Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, maintained a lead in 83 seats. Additionally, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading in 19 seats, while the Hindustani Awam Morcha led in five seats.

The opposition INDIA alliance was trailing significantly, leading in less than 40 seats. Rashtriya Janata Dal, led by Tejaswini Yadav, was leading in 26 seats, while the Congress party was heading in just three seats.

The Bihar Assembly Elections were held in two phases on November 6 and 11. A high voter turnout of 67.13 percent was recorded, as the state, known for its struggles with poverty, unemployment, and corruption, came forward to vote.
