Kuwait City: Kuwait's role in supporting Palestine and its continuous efforts to end the genocide in Gaza is prominent and exceptional, stated Palestine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Riyadh Mansour. He made these remarks during a ceremony celebrating the "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People," organized by the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People. According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Mansour praised Kuwait's support for the Palestinian cause, alongside other Arab states. He highlighted the collaborative efforts with Algeria, a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, to halt the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and work towards the reconstruction of the region. Mansour expressed hope for progress in implementing the International Court of Justice's ruling, which declared the Israeli occupation of Gaza illegal and called for its immediate end. Mansour also noted that the UN General Assembly had issued a resolution de manding the termination of the occupation within 12 months. The assembly urged the international community to stop supplying arms to Israeli forces and to disengage from settlements. It also called for war criminals to be held accountable, in line with the International Criminal Court's order to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, initiated by the UN General Assembly in 1977, serves to support Palestinians' right to an independent state. It also acts as a reminder for the international community to intensify efforts to protect Palestinian lives and to strive for peace and stability, emphasized Ambassador Mansour.
