Kuwait’s Cabinet Commends Efforts in Reaching Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Cabinet expressed appreciation on Tuesday for the regional and international efforts by allied countries that led to the signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. This announcement was made during the Cabinet's weekly meeting at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs provided details of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on his visit to Oman. The delegation included several high-profile officials such as the Minister of Defense and the Vice Chairman of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. The Cabinet also discussed the outcomes of the recent visit by the President of the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations and exploring ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

The Cabinet was also informed by His Highness the Prime Minister about his participation in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt, where he emphasized the importance of international efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip and alleviate the humanitarian suffering. His Highness reiterated Kuwait's support for the Palestinian people's rights to establish an independent state.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah updated the Cabinet on his official trip to Washington, highlighting discussions with key US officials on bilateral cooperation. He also reported on his visit to Lyon, France, where he engaged with Interpol's President to enhance efforts against organized crime and smuggling.

Additionally, the Cabinet received a briefing from the Minister of Oil, Tariq Al-Roumi, on the Kuwait Oil Company's new discovery of the Jazza Marine Field of natural gas. This achievement was praised by His Highness the Prime Minister, who acknowledged the expertise of Kuwait's national workforce.

The Cabinet concluded by approving draft decree-laws to protect missing persons and combat international crimes, forwarding them to His Highness the Amir for consideration.
