KUNA to Host Media Dialogue for Arab Cultural and Media Advancement

Kuwait city: Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) will host a media dialogue on Wednesday under the title "KUNA Dialogue," as a significant component of the "Kuwait Capital of Arab Culture and Media 2025" activities. This event is set to gather prominent figures in media and thought leadership from Kuwait and across the Arab world, underscoring KUNA's commitment to its national role and strategic media integration.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the dialogue is intended to support KUNA's broadened responsibilities beyond conventional news reporting, aiming to foster Kuwait's comprehensive national media message. The agency highlighted that Kuwait's designation as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media for 2025 reaffirms its pioneering cultural and media role in the region, built on strong foundations of responsible freedom of expression.

The recognition also signifies the steady support from Kuwait's leadership for culture, media, and the arts, promoting national identity and creative expression across multiple platforms. The dialogue will delve into Kuwait's media journey amidst current global challenges, particularly focusing on technological advancements and artificial intelligence that are shaping modern content creation and journalism.

The first session, titled "Official Media: Past and Present," is set to cover KUNA's role, the legacy of Kuwait Radio, and the evolution of Kuwait TV in narrating the national story. Notable speakers for this session include former KUNA editorial sector head Saad Al-Ali, Al-Rai Editor-in-Chief Waleed Al-Jasem, radio official Dr. Yousef Al-Suraie, and TV executive Bader Al-Dai.

The second session, "Press and New Media," will examine the dynamics of print media in the digital era, the rise of online platforms as news sources, and the ethical challenges currently faced by journalists. Participants in this session include FANA Secretary-General Dr. Fareed Ayar, BNA Director-General Abdulla Bouhaji, Petra Chairman Nabil Ghishan, and former Petra Director Ramadan Al-Rawashdeh.

The third session, "Media Role Integration," will explore the collaboration across KUNA, TV, radio, and newspapers in delivering truth and shaping the future of Kuwait's media landscape towards 2030. Speakers in this session include Al-Qabas Editor-in-Chief Waleed Al-Nisf, Kuwait Times Editor-in-Chief Dr. Ziad Al-Alyan, Kuwait Journalists Association Chairman Adnan Al-Rashed, and Al-Jarida Editor-in-Chief Nasser Al-Otaibi.
