Kuwait City: The 35th relief aid plane took off from Kuwait to Port Sudan Thursday morning carrying 40 tons of food supplies and tents, to help the displaced people in Sudan as part of the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign, according to KRCS.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS)'s Board of Directors, Ambassador Khaled Al-Maqamis, stated that this aid came under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Al-Maqamis added that the current relief plane for Sudan comes within the framework of Kuwait's support to the Sudanese people, carrying essential humanitarian needs of displaced and affected families there, amounting to 40 tons of various food supplies and tents to help overcome the current crisis.
He expressed his thanks to the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Social Affairs Ministry, Kuwait Embassy in Sudan, and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) for their contributions to the success of this humanitarian mission.
KRCS contributed in providing medicines, medical supplies, ambulances, food, and tents to the displaced Sudanese, in coordination with SRCS to work on distributing them.
Sudanese Ambassador to Kuwait Awad Karim Balah praised on Wednesday the humanitarian contributions of the KRCS in Sudan and around the world, adding that these efforts have alleviated the suffering of the afflicted.
