IICO Inaugurates Al-Asayyab Water Station in Sudan to Aid Thousands

Kuwait City: The Kuwait-based International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) inaugurated the Al-Asayyab water station in Sudan's River Nile State on Thursday. This initiative aims to provide clean and sustainable water supplies to local communities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the IICO revealed in a press statement that the newly established water station, funded at a cost of USD 43,763, has the capacity to produce 40 cubic meters of clean water per hour. This station is expected to be a crucial resource for over 12,000 people in the region who have been grappling with severe water shortages. The situation has become particularly pressing as many displaced individuals are returning to their homes after prolonged periods of displacement.

The IICO emphasized that the inauguration of the Al-Asayyab water station signifies the beginning of its development efforts in post-war Sudan. The Kuwaiti charity further announced plans to implement additional projects in Sudan aimed at enhancing community stability, achieving sustainable development, and upholding values of giving and human responsibility.
