464 Individuals Stripped of Kuwaiti Citizenship

Kuwait City: The Supreme Committee on Kuwaiti Citizenship announced on Thursday the stripping of 464 individuals' citizenship, with the matter to be referred to the cabinet. This decision was made during a committee meeting chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement by the Interior Ministry revealed that, as per Article 11 of the Citizenship Law, 12 individuals had their citizenship stripped due to dual nationality. Furthermore, 451 people had their citizenship abolished owing to forgery and fraud, in line with Article 15 of the Citizenship Law. Additionally, one person's citizenship was cancelled according to Article 13 of the Citizenship Law for 1959, due to matters related to the country's higher interest.
