Kuwait City: It is imperative for tomorrow's young leaders to hone their diplomatic skills as they prepare to take over, Director of the NATO Regional Center and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (NATO-ICI) Mohammad Al-Oraifan said on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the NATO-ICI regularly holds initiatives that allow would-be diplomats the chance to exchange their views on some of the world's most pressing matters, which in turn, helps develop their diplomatic skills, he told KUNA on the sidelines of a program entitled, "Young Diplomats," the Kuwait-based center is co-organizing with the Canadian and British embassies.
The Kuwaiti diplomat said that he was impressed with the ability of the participants to engage one another in constructive dialogue, saying such a skill would bode them well as their diplomatic career progresses.
The six-month program sees some 40 future diplomats take part in a slew of activities designed to ratchet up their diplomatic skills.
