Amir of Qatar Visits India to Bolster Bilateral Relations

New Delhi: Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived in New Delhi on Monday evening for an official two-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. He was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Amir of Qatar is scheduled to engage in discussions with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discussions will focus on various aspects of the bilateral relationship. An earlier statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties of friendship, trust, and mutual respect between the two countries. The statement emphasized that trade, investment, energy, technology, culture, and people-to-people ties have continued to grow stronger over recent decades.

The visit is expected to provide further momentum to the growing multifaceted partnership between India and Qatar. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that this visit marks the second time Sheikh Tamim has visited India, with his first visit occurring in March 2015.
