Kuwait Welcomes Declaration of Principles Between DRC and CRA Signed in Doha

Kuwait city: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced Kuwait's welcome of the Declaration of Principles (DoP) signed between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance (CRA), March 23 Movement, in Doha. The agreement, mediated by Qatar, aims to facilitate peace and stability in the region.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi praised Qatar's mediation efforts that led to the signing of this pivotal declaration. The agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Rwanda-backed March 23 (M23) rebel movement is seen as a significant step toward resolving ongoing tensions.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, several government bodies, trade unions, and civil society organizations have issued appeals to the international community. They are urging the opening of humanitarian corridors into the Gaza Strip to deliver essential aid to residents affected by the conflict.

In cultural news, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) in Kuwait organized an Arabic calligraphy workshop at the Modern Art Museum. This event is part of the 17th Summer Cultural Festival, showcasing the region's rich artistic heritage.

In sports, Kuwaiti swimmer Rashid Al-Tarmoom of Qadsiya Sporting Club (SC) and the Kuwait national team achieved first place in the 50-meter breaststroke race. His victory came during the Open Swimming Championship held in Jordan, highlighting Kuwait's prowess in international swimming competitions.
