Kuwait city: Kuwait Television and Kuwait's Ministry of Information's Development Sector secured the prestigious Arab League's Media Excellence Award for outstanding contributions in the audio-visual and print media sectors across Arab nations. This accolade was awarded during the 2025 Media Excellence Award ceremony, themed "Arab Youth and New Media," marking the closing of the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the awards were presented by Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture and State Minister for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, alongside Arab League Secretary-General Ahmad Abul-Gheit and Syrian Information Minister Hamza Al-Mustafa, who chaired the current session. Kuwait Television received the award for the best television report titled "Youth's Relationship with Social Media." In parallel, Iraq Television was recognized for the best documentary film focusing on digital youth.
In the radio category, Algerian Radio was awarded for the best radio report covering youth, social media, and artificial intelligence. Egypt's Youth and Sports Radio earned recognition for their best radio awareness report targeting youth.
In print journalism, Emirati journalist Hazza Abu Al-Raisi won for the best investigative report titled "Arab Youth and New Media," while the Jordanian newspaper Ad-Dustour was honored for the best opinion column discussing the impact of hate speech on youth.
In the digital media domain, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) claimed awards for the best photograph by Faisal Al-Wahima and for the best digital report on youth media sources by Bandari Habram. Additionally, Amal Nawfal from Palestine received recognition for the best digital video.
The Ministerial Council also recognized Ibrahim Matqi, Director of Development and Follow-up at Kuwait's Ministry of Information, for his significant contributions to the Arab media landscape. Additional honors were extended to the Editor-in-Chief of the Saudi newspaper Al-Jazirah, Minister Ahmad Assaf overseeing Palestinian media, and Ali Saleh Al-Sada, Director of Qatar TV.
