Kuwait School Opens in Karachi to Educate Kuwaitis and Arab Expatriates

Kuwait city: The Al-Maaref (education) department made a significant move by opening Kuwait School in Karachi, aimed at teaching the Arabic Language and Islam to Kuwaitis and Arab expatriates residing in Pakistan. This initiative underscores the commitment to fostering cultural and linguistic ties among the Arab community living abroad.

According to Kuwait News Agency, several key historical events have marked Kuwait's timeline. In 1975, Kuwait hosted its first book fair at the Faculty of Sciences in Kuwait University, a milestone in promoting literacy and education. Fast forward to 1990, amidst the Iraqi invasion and occupation of Kuwait, the nation published the first edition of the "Voice of Kuwait" newspaper, based in Britain and edited by Dr. Mohammad Al-Rumaihi, serving as a voice for Kuwaitis during trying times.

In 1991, the Al-Babtain center for burns and cosmetic surgery commenced operations, becoming the first specialized center of its kind in the Middle East. A decade later, in 2001, a new traffic law was introduced, detailing rules and penalties concerning plates, license withdrawal, and car impounding.

The Kuwaiti shooting team achieved a remarkable feat in 2007, winning the gold medal at the Asian skeet championship in the Philippines. In 2011, the Kuwaiti team continued its winning streak by securing multiple medals, including eight golds, at the Arab skeet tournament in Morocco.

In 2016, Kuwait demonstrated its humanitarian spirit by donating USD four million to support UNICEF's activities in Syria and neighboring countries. Most recently, in 2019, Kuwait Airways enhanced its fleet by receiving the new Al-Jahra (A320neo) aircraft from Airbus, marking a step forward in modernizing its aviation capabilities.
