Kuwait Health Minister Implements Eight Decisions to Regulate Medical Profession and Healthcare System

Kuwait city: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi has issued eight ministerial decisions to advance the healthcare system and regulate the medical profession.

According to Kuwait News Agency, these decisions aim to enhance the framework within which medical services operate in the country.

The ministry's statement highlighted that one of the key decisions involves the regulation of pharmacovigilance, focusing on monitoring medication effects post-licensing. Additionally, measures have been introduced to organize and oversee the import of medical equipment, cosmetic products, and herbal medicines.

Another decision established a ministerial committee dedicated to investigating violations by private pharmacies. The ministry's statement also noted a requirement for companies to provide sales data and checks, ensuring comprehensive monitoring of medicine flow, including veterinary use.

Further, the decisions encompass the issuance of new licenses for medical and dental professionals in the private sector, with a strategic link to the public healthcare system. This initiative aims to ensure cohesion between private and public healthcare services.
