Kuwait city: Kuwait reviewed its legislative frameworks and all reforms related to child rights during a high-level regional workshop held in Jordan.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this participation was part of a workshop organized by UNICEF and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, which concluded in Amman. Haya Al-Duraie, Second Secretary at the Human Rights Department, delivered a presentation outlining key national measures to protect child rights in Kuwait, emphasizing that Law No. 21 (2015) serves as the cornerstone for child rights protection in the country.
She discussed Kuwait's "New Kuwait 2035" vision, aimed at fostering a creative and productive generation through a safe and supportive environment, in alignment with UN sustainable development goals. The presentation also reaffirmed Kuwait's dedication to the 1991 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 2015 national law. It was noted that the Cabinet has recently approved amendments to child protection laws to meet international standards.
