Russia and GCC Denounce Israeli Attack on Qatar

Sochi: Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have jointly condemned the recent attack by Israeli occupation forces on Qatar. The GCC foreign ministers, along with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, expressed their strong condemnation during the eighth ministerial meeting of the GCC-Russia Strategic Dialogue in Sochi.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the joint statement released by the GCC Secretariat General highlighted the offensive targeting residential facilities in Doha, including residences for members of the Hamas movement politburo. The attack resulted in casualties among personnel of the interior forces and several members of the movement. It also endangered civilian lives, constituting a flagrant violation of international laws and an affront to Qatar's sovereignty.

The GCC ministers emphasized that this action undermines diplomatic efforts for regional security and stability. They called for a firm international stance to hold the global community accountable for its responsibilities and to implement measures to deter Israel and stop its repeated violations of international peace and security principles.

Furthermore, the ministers urged the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their duties in stopping such attacks and preventing their recurrence. They warned that failure to adopt a decisive international stance could have serious repercussions for peace and security both regionally and internationally.
