Global Sumud Flotilla Departs to Bizerte on Its Way to Gaza

Bizerte: The organizing committee of the "Global Sumud Flotilla" announced on Thursday that its ships have headed to the port of Bizerte, located at the northernmost point of Tunisia, in their final stop before sailing to the Gaza Strip, in an effort to break the blockade.

According to Kuwait News Agency, in a statement, the committee confirmed that 10 ships, carrying activists from several countries, had arrived at the city's marina by noon today. An additional 20 ships are expected to join.

The flotilla had postponed its humanitarian journey to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday from the port of Sidi Bou Said, due to security, weather, and logistical reasons.

It is still unclear when the flotilla will set sail from Bizerte, where thousands of locals are also expected to gather to express their support and solidarity with the flotilla and the Palestinians in Gaza.
