Kuwait Commerce Minister Calls for Enhanced Coordination to Expedite Customs Clearance

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel on Monday emphasized the importance of continued coordination with all relevant authorities to expedite customs clearance processes for imports. The aim is to enhance trade facilitation and improve efficiency at Kuwait's ports.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ajeel delivered his remarks following a meeting with officials from the General Administration of Customs and major courier companies, including Dalsey, Hillblom, and Lynn (DHL), Aramex, and National Aviation Services (NAS). He advocated for the establishment of clear standards to disclose delivery fees and clarify customs data, aligning with state directives to accelerate the release of imported goods.

Al-Ajeel highlighted that ports serve as a key government tool to simplify procedures by upgrading customs services as part of broader strategies to enhance performance across all sectors. The meeting focused on strengthening regulatory cooperation to simplify border procedures.

In reviewing current efforts and challenges, Al-Ajeel called for ongoing improvements to doorstep delivery mechanisms. The goal is to ensure goods reach the local market more seamlessly, while maintaining accuracy and offering all possible facilitation.
