Kuwait Cabinet Announces Eid Al-Fitr Holiday Schedule

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Thursday announced that work will be suspended at all ministries, governmental bodies, and public institutions for three days as an official holiday on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. This decision is contingent upon the first day of Eid Al-Fitr being confirmed as Sunday, March 30, with work resuming on Wednesday, April 2.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the cabinet further decided that if the first day of Eid Al-Fitr falls on Monday, March 31, work will be suspended for five days starting Sunday, March 30, and will resume on Sunday, April 6. This adjustment aims to accommodate the potential variance in the start date of Eid Al-Fitr, which depends on the sighting of the moon.

Additionally, state agencies with a unique operational nature will have the autonomy to determine their own Eid Al-Fitr holiday schedules. These agencies are instructed to consider the public interest when making their decisions.
