Beirut: A Lebanese soldier who was abducted by occupation forces on the 9th of the past month has been freed, the military said on Thursday. The soldier, who had been shot and wounded in the southern town of Kfar Shouba before being kidnapped, has been handed over by the International Committee of the Red Cross and taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Lebanon recently received four freed prisoners who were captured during the recent conflict in the country. The soldier’s release comes amidst ongoing tensions, as occupation forces have been accused of repeatedly breaching a truce deal reached on November 27. These breaches have included recurring air strikes and other hostilities, contributing to the volatile situation in the region.
