Kuwait City: Head of Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah and his Tunisian counterpart Nidal Suwailem have officially signed an agreement to regulate air transport between the two nations. The signing took place on Saturday, witnessed by Tunisia's Transport Minister Rashid Ameri, Kuwait's Ambassador to Tunisia Mansour Al-Omar, and other embassy officials.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in the civil aviation sector, focusing on air linkage, aviation safety, and security, as well as the development of air services between Kuwait and Tunisia. Sheikh Humoud emphasized that the deal is part of a broader initiative to establish similar agreements with other countries, aligning with legal and technical standards, and supporting Kuwait's vision for future cooperation in tourism and aviation.
Sheikh Humoud highlighted the importance of technical and operational support, particularly in initiating air freight operations that cater to mutual interests, including the distribution of Tunisian products. He noted the Kuwaiti consumer's interest in diversifying consumption sources and supporting the accessibility of Arab products.
Tunisia's Transport Minister Rashid Ameri expressed that the agreements reflect the strong ties between the two countries and will facilitate new opportunities for collaboration in air safety and the movement of people and goods. He stated that this development marks a significant step in enhancing joint Arab cooperation, aligning with international standards and fostering competition. Ameri stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and technical knowledge sharing to improve service offerings.
