Kuwait and Sudan Enhance Agricultural Cooperation

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Acting Director-General of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources, Salem Al-Hai, discussed on Sunday ways to enhance mutual cooperation in food security and natural resources with Sudan's Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Ahmed El-Tijani.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Regional Office of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), Drar Al-Mustafa, and Sudan's Ambassador to Kuwait, Awad Karim Balla. Both sides commended the efforts of AOAD, headquartered in Sudan, in strengthening avenues of cooperation between the two countries and encouraging mutual investment and trade.

The statement quoted Al-Hai as reaffirming the strong relations between Kuwait and Sudan. He also emphasized Kuwait's interest in expanding areas of cooperation and exchanging expertise with Arab countries in the agricultural sectors.

Minister El-Tijani highlighted promising investment opportunities and incentives available to investors in the sector, noting the cooperation between the two sides. The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development aims to strengthen and develop links among Arab countries and coordinate cooperation in agricultural fields and activities. It also seeks to raise plant and animal agricultural productivity, optimize the use of fishery resources, and achieve regional integration.
