Vienna: Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Al-Sabah, the assistant of Kuwait's foreign minister for humanitarian rights, on Monday affirmed the adherence by the State of Kuwait and other GCC countries to expanding the cooperation with other nations in combating human trade. She addressed a sideline gathering, held on the margins of the 34th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), hosted by Vienna.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait has exerted efforts in resisting such forms of crimes by hosting the sixth government-regional forum on combating trade in individuals, opening a center for housing expatriate labor, and building labor towns. Sheikha Jawaher also highlighted the launch of the national strategy for combating trade in individuals and immigrants' trafficking for the years 2025 to 2028.

Sheikha Jawaher discussed Kuwait's development of its legal system, citing the issuance of laws number 91/2013 and 114/2024. She also emphasized Kuwait's close cooperation with the UN office responsible for narcotics and crime. The commitment of the State of Kuwait to protect human dignity, boost justice, and coordinate with regional and international partners to firmly resist the cross-border scourge was reaffirmed during her address.
