Amman: The International Family Conference, titled "The Family between Values and Contemporary Trends," commenced in the Jordanian capital with significant regional and international participation, focusing on strategies and alliances to protect families and enhance the role of women in society.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Mona Al-Mutairi, Secretary General of Kuwait's Supreme Council for Family Affairs, stated that the Kuwaiti delegation aims to learn from Jordan's experiences in building partnerships among government bodies, civil society, and humanitarian organizations to implement successful models in Kuwait. This initiative aligns with the Council's efforts to offer social, legal, and awareness support while coordinating with various entities to maintain family cohesion and broaden women's opportunities for active societal participation.
Al-Mutairi is participating in a session dedicated to protection from domestic violence and its impact on social integration, where she will present Kuwait's experiences and the Council's role in providing psychological and social services supported by legal assistance to promote safe and stable families. She highlighted the delegation's intention to adopt global best practices to strengthen partnerships and improve the scope and safety of family services.
Additionally, Haifa Al-Mousa, Secretary General of Kuwait's Women's Cultural and Social Society (WCSS), emphasized the Society's contribution in a statement to Kuwait News Agency. They are presenting a paper on the role of civil society and community initiatives in empowering families, showcasing practical social and economic support. Al-Mousa stressed the importance of exchanging expertise with regional and international institutions on women's empowerment and family support, as such conferences facilitate expanded cooperation and the adoption of joint initiatives that reinforce family bonds and promote gender equality.
She noted that Kuwait's community-driven efforts have resulted in tangible improvements in family stability and capacity building. The three-day conference gathers specialists from Arab and foreign countries to conduct focused sessions and develop recommendations concerning family and society matters.
