Israeli Forces Target Civilians in Southern Lebanon, Resulting in Casualties

Beirut: The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the total casualties from Israeli occupation forces' aggression on Sunday reached 24 dead and 134 injured. The violence unfolded as residents attempted to access their still-occupied border towns in southern Lebanon.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that large crowds from southern border towns gathered in villages and towns in the western and central sectors, particularly in the city of Bint Jbeil. This situation arises as the Lebanese Army bolsters its presence in the region, while the UN Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) conducts patrols.

The agency noted that residents of the border town of Houla managed to enter certain neighborhoods following the army's deployment. Intense surveillance by the Israeli occupation's drones was observed across southern Lebanon and over the capital, Beirut. The Lebanese Army has urged citizens to exercise caution and delay returning to the southern border areas due to the presence of mines and suspicious remnants left by the Israeli occupation forces, especially as the 60-day ceasefire period approaches its end.

Despite these warnings, large crowds gathered on Sunday at the entrances to their villages and towns, leading to confrontations and clashes with Israeli occupation forces. The Lebanese government reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement with Israel until February 18.
