Tehran: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi announced on Sunday that there is no scheduled date for negotiations or meetings with the United States. This statement comes in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's recent comments suggesting that Washington was planning to engage in talks with Iran the following week.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Takht-Ravanchi reiterated Iran's commitment to democracy, while expressing skepticism about the U.S.'s genuine intentions to return to the negotiating table. This sentiment was echoed by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, who stated on Thursday that Tehran had no plans to meet with the U.S., directly contradicting President Trump's assertions.
Tehran and Washington have previously engaged in five rounds of negotiations before tensions escalated due to actions involving the Israeli occupation and subsequent U.S. attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities.
