Indonesia: Indonesian authorities announced on Friday that the death toll from the sunken ferry headed to Bali, had risen to six, with 26 people still missing and 33 others rescued.
According to Kuwait News Agency, rescue authorities said its teams have expanded their search operations by air, sea, and land, using boats and helicopters, as well as scouring the coastline, in an attempt to locate dozens of missing people after the ferry sank last Wednesday.
The ferry carrying at least 65 people, including passengers and crew, was making a five-kilometre (3.2-mile) crossing from eastern Java Island to Bali when it tilted and sank in bad weather late Wednesday, the authorities explained.
They added that the search operations would continue with the participation of military and police personnel and search and rescue units were deployed around the ferry sinking site.
