Paris: Chaos continued at airports across France on Friday as hundreds of flights were cancelled due to the strike of air traffic controllers which entered its second day.
According to Kuwait News Agency, more than 300,000 passengers were affected by the strike involving approximately 260 air traffic controllers. The controllers are demanding higher pay and better working conditions. The trade union initiated a two-day strike yesterday and has warned of escalating actions next week if their demands are not addressed.
Over 900 flights were cancelled yesterday, with expectations of worsening conditions in Paris and other parts of the country today and tomorrow. Prime Minister Francois Bayrou described the strike as horrible and accused the striking workers of holding the French people hostage.
