IICO Grants 400,000 Euros to Bayan Italian Institute for Student Support

Rome: The International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) has allocated approximately 400,000 euros to the Bayan Italian Islamic Institute to bolster the qualification process for its students, impacting around 380 individuals by ensuring the sustainability of its educational programs.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this generous contribution coincides with the graduation ceremony of the Institute's first cohort, which took place on Tuesday. The institute provides a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree, marking a significant milestone in its educational offerings.

Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, the Organization's Deputy Director General for Corporate Communication, emphasized that this strategic partnership between IICO and the Italian Islamic Association addresses a critical need within Europe, where over 2.6 million Muslims reside in Italy. He highlighted that the financial support is aimed at covering portions of tuition fees and developing academic curricula, which are vital for producing graduates capable of presenting Islamic culture through its humanistic values.

Al-Mutawa further elaborated that the support extends to the implementation of various educational and social programs. These include introductions to Islamic sciences, a professional teacher program, Arabic language courses, and a youth leadership program. Additionally, there are programs designed for imams and preachers, a Muslim family program, and an Umrah program with visits to holy sites.

He concluded by stating that this initiative aligns with the Organization's strategy to develop scientifically grounded leadership capable of localizing and sustaining programs that introduce Islamic culture across Europe.
